Chermside Pool

375 Hamilton Road, Chermside QLD

History will endorse the Chermside Swimming complex as an environment catering for the aquatic pastimes of the broader community.

We are proud of the members of The Rackley Swim Team that train out of Chermside. They  include a wide segment of the community steeped in diversity. Our program is built around fun and fitness and striving and our aim is for our members to achieve personal success through competition.

The diversity in the population demographic can be described as we watch families building the champions of tomorrow, to the citizens who built this great city enjoying the spoils of inner suburban living, to the multicultural base who weave their homeland tastes and culture into a suburb that is surrounded by industrial heritage.

The structure of the program at Chermside caters for varying levels within the community. This is the nucleus of enjoyment of being the Head Coach at Chermside. Sometimes challenging it nonetheless provides the catalyst for a total inclusive structure. It is the aim of the Head Coach to include and offer everyone an opportunity to be a part of Australia’s most popular sport.  A silent obligation exists (to a coach) in providing a skilful learning experience through fun and fitness in a structured manner that benefits  everyone who participates.

The coaching program at Chermside is built on the following levels of participation which embraces diversity within the community.
  • Mini-Squad swimmers
  • Junior Squad swimmers
  • Competitive Squad swimmers
  • Squad Swimmers participating for fitness only
  • Adult Swim fit Swimmers
  • Adult Learn to Swim Swimmers
  • Special Olympics Swimmers
  • Adult Competitive Swimmers
  • Down Syndrome Swimmers
  • Intellectually Disabled Swimmers
