Tim Dilger

Tim Dilger (Head Coach Age and Schools Programs - Centenary)

Tim has been involved in swimming his whole life and spent the last 15 years as a Coach with 4 years as head coach at Clayfield College and the last three at St Rita's/Aqua Rosa Swim Club. During his time at Aqua Rosa he has helped the club grow from 80 to over 130 club members and more than 200 swimmers in the pool.  Tim's coaching ethos is to to promote a positive and competitive environment whilst embracing the principles of commitment, respect, individuality and challenging oneself. Tim offers the current coaching team a different yet complimentary set of skills that we believe are valuable for our current crop of athletes and the sustainable future of our club.

Mackenzie Speechley

Mackenzie Speechley (Junior Development Coach - Centenary)

Mackenzie has been involved with the swimming industry his whole life, first as a swimmer for 8 years and now as a bronze level coach for the past 8 years. Moving to Rackley Swim Team in 2015, Mackenzie heads up the Junior Development Program and assists with the National & State Squads.

Mackenzie understands that the role of Junior Development Coach is pivotal in the ‘Long Term Athlete Pathway’ for the Rackley Centenary Program. Educating young athletes on flawless technique, injury prevention, communication and enjoying the sport are the key concepts to his program.

Mackenzie’s coaching philosophy is to create an optimal learning environment based around mutual respect between the coach, the swimmer and the parents. He is a strong believer that if swimmers and families enjoy club based social/competitive events, a successful and positive club culture is achieved.

Matt Nguyen

Matt Nguyen (Coach Junior & Senior Squads - Centenary )

Matthew, a former swimmer himself, had transitioned to coaching whilst concurrently studying Bachelor of Exercise Physiology at university. He brings his knowledge of physiology to help our swimmers improve technique in the water and be effective in dry land work. Matt is also currently completing Strength & Conditioning Level 1 course.  Matt is passionate about helping young swimmers realise their potential and enjoy swimming.

Club nights at Centenary are about building team spirit – the focus is on enjoyment and connection with their team mates. There is a lot of opportunities for our swimmers to focus on times and racing during training and at the interclub meets, so whilst there will be racing at club nights we don’t want racing to be its sole focus. It will involve activities in and out of the pool including diving, relays and team challenges. The criteria for success is the smile on the swimmers faces as they leave. We look forward to your involvement and feedback on how we make it a great experience for all our swimmers regardless of their level.

Awards will be presented at the Christmas all Squad social in the first weekend of December. Award categories for Club Night Swimmers include:

Club Champions based on participation and involvement across the Club night program, – Improvement awards based on club and interclub meet performance,

Age Champions based on races at the Club Championships. We will also commence Centenary pool based records in 2017. This year all club events will be for Centenary Squads and held at the Centenary pool.

Squad Fees
Junior Squad $145.00
Bronze Squad $160.00
Senior Squad $160.00
Silver Squad $180.00
Gold Squad $190.00

All squad fees are payable via Direct Debit on a monthly basis. Swimmers will be issued with a scan card that must be presented to reception at each visit. Swimmers are able to access as many sessions per week that are available for their level, we do ask parents to nominate the days and sessions they wish their child to attend. This will ensure that we are not overcrowding lanes, and that all children are receiving individual attention from their coaches. Attendances for all sessions will be tracked via our database to ensure that capped numbers are being maintained. Providing spaces are available you may increase the number of sessions, or change your day and time at any time by contacting our customer service team at Centenary.

PLEASE NOTE : Please note the monthly rates are calculated based on an annual amount spread across 12 monthly payments, rather than a term-based approach. The amount takes into account expected breaks/holiday periods for swimmers. For breaks of more than 4 weeks (or in case on injury) please contact the centre manager to organise a payment suspension during the period you are away (Noting that on return your time/day for squads may vary depending on availability).

Please refer to the Squad Timetable for days and times available for each squad level.

All Gregory Terrace students join the club and squads through The Gregory Terrace Swimming program Please see the Gregory Terrace Swimming Co-ordinator for more details.
